Several college golfers began their two-day run at Big Creek Golf and Country Club on Monday. Williams Baptist University of Walnut Ridge is the host school for the Battle at Big Creek.
Columbia College of Missouri is at the top of the men’s team leaderboard with a total of 290, and they’re seven strokes ahead of William Woods University of Fulton, Missouri. Central Baptist College of Conway is third, Missouri Baptist University of Creve Couer is fourth, Mineral Area College of Park Hills, Missouri, is fifth, Williams Baptist’s varsity team is sixth, Lyon College of Batesville and Mississippi University for Women of Columbus are tied for seventh, the Blue Mountain College junior varsity team of Mississippi is ninth, Fontbonne University of Clayton, Missouri, is 10th, Williams Baptist’s junior varsity squad is 11th, and Crowley’s Ridge College of Paragould is 12th.
Leopold Maes of Central Baptist, Cam VanLeer of Columbia College and Jack Moran of Missouri Baptist are in a three-way tie for the individual lead after each shot a one-under-par 71. Trey Hamilton of William Woods sank a hole-in-one at No. 4, swinging an 8-iron from 154 yards out.
The team leader on the women’s side is Blue Mountain with a total of 317. Mississippi University for Women is second at 10 strokes back. Columbia College is third, William Woods is fourth, Williams Baptist is fifth, Missouri Baptist is sixth, and Lyon is seventh.
Petrone Rudolph of Blue Mountain is at the top of the women’s leaderboard with a 73, two strokes better than teammate Riley Mayhew. Ta’Daisha Flowers of the Mississippi University for Women is third with a 77.
The final round is scheduled for Tuesday.
