The Mountain Home School District recently heard from professional basketball player and motivational speaker Chris Herren.
Herren shared his struggles with addiction and depression throughout the years and how he overcame the challenges.
KTLO, Classic Hits and The Boot’s Heather Loftis spoke with Mental Health Coordinator, Matt Sutton, on the health of area students and how the community can be apart of the solution.

Sutton worked roughly five years to get Herren to present at the school by writing a grant for the program.
Sutton states the message Herren conveys, as well as the curriculum used in schools is focused on “The First Day,” which is based not only on what is going on during the days where substances are abused, but instead what happened on the first day that lead to the initial use of substances.
