
After shutting off tenant’s power, an apartment manager in Searcy is facing charges of human trafficking.
Some tenants of Briarwood Apartments state they were direct targets of the abuse by apartment manager Thomas Kelso, while others were shocked to find out about the arrest.
According to KARK, tenants have stated Kelso shut off the power without an explanation for months.
He is facing charges of human trafficking, posession of fentanyl and posession of methamphetamine with the purpose to deliver.
Steve Hernandez, the police chief in Searcy said Kelso allegedly threatened several to take away utilities for tenants if they did not perform sexual favors.
