A fifty-three-year-old Mountain Home man was sentenced to six years in prison on drug-related charges during a session of Baxter County Circuit Court Monday.
Michael Lawson Bobbitt was charged with possessing methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia and with bringing contraband into the Baxter County jail.
Bobbitt and a female were arrested September 13, 2021, after being stopped by a Mountain Home police officer for displaying an expired license plate.
During the stop, methamphetamine and paraphernalia used to ingest the drug were found.
Bobbitt was checked into the jail just before 4 a.m. During the booking process, an Alprazolam pill was found in the room where incoming inmates change into jail uniforms.
The pill had been found immediately after Bobbitt used the room.
In March 2020, Bobbitt had also gotten into trouble for actions he took inside the jail as he was being booked on a disorderly conduct charge.
After the booking process, Bobbitt was put into a holding cell and was reported to have used his artificial leg to break glass in the cell.
