Two Mountain Home police officers were recognized at a luncheon Wednesday for their assistance after the destructive tornado which hit Wynne on March 31.
In a letter sent to the prosecutor’s office, when City of Wynne officials asked for assistance, MHPD officers Hunter Dearmore and Jacob Wright, both with a less than a year of service with the department, left to assist without hesitation. Both officers assisted city officials with roadblocks from midnight Friday through early Saturday morning. According to MHPD CID Lieutenant Mike Day, Dearmore and Wright assisted with 12-hour shifts patrolling the streets of Wynne through the weekend on minimal sleep and did not return home until late Sunday evening.
Day states “the dedication to the job, the Mountain Home community, and overall, to the profession is what makes us proud to have these two officers representing our department.”
