Baseball and softball make up much of a busy Thursday schedule.
The Mountain Home High School baseball team will wrap up its regular season with a road trip. The Bombers will be in Hot Springs for a varsity doubleheader with Lakeside. The first game begins at 4:30.
Two local baseball teams will be in Greenland for the start of the Class 2A West Regional Tournament. Cotter meets Mountainburg at 12:30, and Yellville-Summit faces Lavaca at 5:30.
Three area baseball teams will go to West Side High School in Greers Ferry for their openers in the Class 1A Region 2 Tournament. Calico Rock gets underway with Armorel at 10, Viola takes on Crowley’s Ridge Academy at 3, and Norfork plays Hillcrest at 5:30.
Flippin will send its baseball team to the Equity Bank Sports Complex in Harrison for the Class 3A Region 1 Tournament. The Bobcats will be paired with Charleston at 3.
Melbourne’s baseball team will have the opening game of the Class 3A Region 2 Tournament at Tuckerman. The Bearkatz meet Manila at 10.
Three area baseball teams will be at the Equity Bank Sports Complex in Harrison for the Class 1A Region 1 Tournament. Lead Hill and Mulberry get started at 10, Omaha faces Ozark Catholic at 12:30, and Jasper takes on County Line at 5:30.
In other high school baseball, Bakersfield hosts Mountain View-Liberty.
Two local softball teams will begin action in the Class 2A West Regional Tournament at Greenland. Yellville-Summit has the opener with Mansfield at 10, and Cotter plays Magazine at 12:30.

Izard County’s softball team will be at Magnet Cove for the Class 2A Central Regional Tournament. The Lady Cougars meet Bigelow at 12:30.
The Class 1A Region 1 Tournament will get started at the Equity Bank Sports Complex in Harrison. Lead Hill has the opener with County Line at 12:30, and Omaha faces Mulberry at 5:30. Jasper has a first round bye and will play its opening game on Friday.
