Bakersfield’s softball season ends; 3 area teams advance in district play

A few area high school softball teams were in action Monday as district play continued in Missouri.

Dora was the site for the semifinals of the Class 1, District 4 Tournament.
Bakersfield watched its season come to an end as they fell to Plato 12-7. The Lady Lions’ final record is 12-6.
Dora will be Plato’s opponent for the title after they upset top-seeded Fordland 14-4. The host Lady Falcons improve to 6-8 on the year.

Two area schools competed in the quarterfinals of the Class 2, District 4 Tournament at Mansfield.
Gainesville was able to advance after they defeated Mountain Grove 7-2. The Lady Bulldogs’ record is now 10-14.
Gainesville’s semifinal opponent will be Ava as they routed Cabool 21-0. The top-seeded Lady Bears are 16-6 on the season.

Forsyth hosted the semifinals of the Class 2, District 5 Tournament at shut out Strafford 6-0. The Lady Panthers improve to 18-13.
