A Mountain Home man has been arrested following an altercation with his girlfriend in the parking lot of a business Saturday night. The man, 18-year-old Hunter John Robert Dillard, was reportedly highly intoxicated and told other people there he was not afraid to go to jail.
According to the probable cause affidavit from the Mountain Home Police Department, the girlfriend told officers, and witnesses corroborated, Dillard was upset because she had taken his car keys so he wouldn’t drive while intoxicated. He allegedly hit her in the face, removed her glasses and broke them. Witnesses also say Dillard threatened to get a gun and leave her “dead on the side of the road.” He also broke her cell phone before leaving in her car.
About two hours later, the girlfriend called police again saying Dillard had left her car in Flippin. Flippin police found the vehicle with no damage.
Baxter County Sheriff’s Deputies assisted in trying to locate Dillard and found him at a residence on State Highway 201 North where he was arrested about four hours after the altercation occurred.
Dillard is facing a felony charge of terroristic threatening and misdemeanor charges of domestic battery, interference with emergency communication, unauthorized use of a vehicle, disorderly conduct, criminal mischief and endangering the welfare of a minor. The last charge was for having an underage girl in the car with him. His bond is set at $5,000.
