The Viola High School baseball team is one win away from playing for another state championship. The Longhorns competed in the quarterfinals of the Class 1A State Tournament Saturday at Taylor and defeated Ozark Catholic 6-4.
Two area baseball teams in Missouri began action in the Class 4, District 10 Tournament at Logan-Rogersville High School. Hollister was able to eliminate Ava 11-1. The Tigers improve to 17-8, and they’ll face top-seeded Logan-Rogersville in Monday’s semifinals. The Bears’ season ends at 9-11.
Two area softball teams watched their season come to an end in the quarterfinals of the Class 1A State Tournament Saturday at Taylor. Viola fell to the host Lady Longhorns 4-0, and Calico Rock lost to Bradley 6-1.
