An alum of the Mountain Home High School boys’ soccer team has received a promotion in the state’s largest school district. The Springdale School Board selected former Bomber goalkeeper Brett Brewer was named the head coach of the girls’ soccer team at Har-Ber High School.
Brewer was a four-year letterman at Mountain Home, played in the state championship match in 2012 and took part in two other state semifinals. He later attended Arkansas State University in Jonesboro and started his soccer coaching career at nearby Brookland Junior High School, where he won two division titles.
Brewer continued his career as the girls’ head coach and boys’ assistant coach at Wynne High School. The Lady Yellowjackets reached the state tournament for the first time in school history in his first at the helm. In his second year, both teams reached the state tournament and set a school record for most wins in school history.
Brewer spent this past season as the head coach of Har-Ber’s junior varsity girls’ team and assistant coach of the varsity squad. The J.V. Lady Wildcats ended up with a record of 8-7-2.
