A man has been arrested after he broke into a woman’s residence armed with a hammer. No injuries were reported in the incident that led to the arrest of 34-year-old Terry Lemmond of Mountain View.
The probable cause affidavit says the victim told police Lemmond broke into her residence through the front door armed with a hammer. She says Lemmond was yelling and screaming at her and asked her if she needed the hammer to protect herself from him. The victim says Lemmond then took her phone and smashed it with the hammer.
The victim was able to lock herself in a bathroom until Lemmond left the residence. Once he did, the victim ran outside and was attempting to leave when Lemmond began throwing rocks at her vehicle, breaking the windshield. She says Lemmond was threatening to kill her, and others, as she fled the area.
Police located Lemmond a short time later and he admitted to the crimes.
Lemmond is facing felony charges of breaking or entering and terroristic threatening and misdemeanor charges of criminal mischief and interference with emergency communications. His bond is set at $10,000.
