After nearly a week-and-a-half of maintenance, one of the pages of the Baxter County Sheriff’s Office website has been restored. The inmate roster was put back online at around 2 Friday afternoon.
According to Sheriff John Montgomery, the roster was taken offline on May 30 due to a software upgrade to the sheriff’s office records management system. Following the software upgrade and data conversion, the computer code feeding the website had to be re-written, requiring several days of testing the data to confirm its accuracy. The sheriff says everyone who signed up to receive the inmate roster each day should have received their email or text Friday morning.
Sheriff Montgomery adds the website has more than 2.5 million visits per year and more than 50,000 unique visitors each month. To view the current roster and recent releases go to baxtercountysheriff.com/roster-choose.
