North Arkansas College in Harrison has announced Macy Jo Young, a graduate of Bruno-Pyatt, as the 2023 Academic All-Star.
Young will receive a $500 scholarship to transfer to Arkansas Tech University where she will continue her education in physical therapy. She will be recognized at the Arkansas Association of Community College annual conference in October.
Young states “My time spent at North Arkansas College has forever impacted my life. I love how close the professors are with all their students, and I love walking into a class and hearing them greet you by name. They genuinely care about your well-being and your performance in their class. I am so thankful that I got to kick off my pursuit of higher education at North Arkansas College, where everyone matters!”
Young volunteers at the First Love Church of God in Bellefonte where she teaches Sunday School and recently helped with a women’s conference. She has organized and handed out food baskets for families who are less fortunate in her neighborhood and volunteers at the local high school helping peewee basketball players develop their skills. When she is not in classes or helping at church, Young works at Jones Physical Therapy.
