Two days later, investigators obtained information the vehicle was possibly in the Cave City area. Employees told law enforcement they were suspicious and stated a female showed up to pick up the truck. When she was told the authorities were going to be contacted, the woman then a hurry. Employees stated they kept the keys for safekeeping.

Investigators discovered the truck had not been wrecked or towed as Gilbert had stated. It has been parked and abandoned at a shop in Evening Shade without the victim’s knowledge.

Gilbert has been charged with one felony count of theft of property. She was arrested in Marion County where she was booked into the Marion County Detention Center and released on $5,000 bond.
