While school is out for regular session, one area school district is giving its students in pre-kindergarten through eighth grade an opportunity to continue learning during the summer. The Izard County School District wrapped up its first Academic Summer Camp at the end of June, and they’re accepting registrations for another two-week session to be held this month at the elementary campus in Violet Hill.
Izard County Superintendent Fred Walker tells KTLO, Classic Hits and The Boot’s Matt Sharp the camp was started by the district two or three years ago.
