The Mountain Home Diamonds won their bracket opener in the Fastpitch America Softball Association Class C 16-and-Under and 18-and-Under World Series on a winning note Thursday at Branson. The Diamonds picked up their second straight win over the Southern Illinois Vipers by a final of 10-2.
The Vipers jumped out early with a 2-0 lead after the first inning, but Mountain Home took over from there. Mallorie went 2-for-2 on the day with a walk, Kaelyn Gooch provided a triple and was hit by a pitch, and Laken Anderson added a double and reached on an error.
