A Yellville man is dead after fleeing law enforcement and being thrown from his motorcycle in a private driveway in the Arkansas River Valley on Sunday morning. Fifty-two-year-old Don Bird was pronounced dead at the scene in Pottsville.
According to the Arkansas State Police, Bird was being chased on his motorcycle by law enforcement. He reportedly turned into a private driveway and did not see a cable being stretched across. Bird was struck by the cable and thrown from the motorcycle.
Road conditions were dry, and the weather was clear at the time 10:45 a.m. accident.
