
The Baxter County Historical and Genealogical Society will host a presentation from long-time member Royce Jones Tuesday night at 6 at the Baxter County Library.
Baxter County native Jones, will share 87 years of memories and collected items from his life in a presentation called “Tall Tales from my short, uneventful life.”
A graduate of Mountain Home High School, Jones served in the Marines and graduated from the University of Arkansas Little Rock with a degree in biology, where he worked as a health inspector in Pulaski County. His career has included being a production woodturner specializing in fishing lures.
Jones is also a woodcarver, musician, fisherman and competition archer. As a lad he was a Boy Scout in Troop 156 and a Scout Master for the Troop. He is an avid genealogy researcher and has gathered much of his family history, collecting a wealth of photos of his ancestors.
Admission is free and open to the public.
