Three teenagers suffered what were termed suspected minor injuries in a one-vehicle accident north of Mountain Home Monday evening. Two passengers, a 17-year-old male and a 16-year-old female, were transported by ambulance to Baxter Health. The 16-year-old female driver refused treatment. A fourth teen, a 16-year-old male, avoided injury.

According to the crash report from the Baxter County Sheriff’s Office, a deputy arrived to find fire personnel on the scene at County Road 28. A vehicle was resting in an embankment with a mailbox sticking to the front end.

The driver stated a deer had run out into the roadway. She reportedly swerved to miss the deer, and the vehicle ran off the road, traveled into an embankment and collided with the mailbox. The driver suffered pain to her wrist, and two of her passengers stated they had chest pain.

The deputy says damage was done to the front of the vehicle, the front passenger and driver’s sides, the engine and the rear of the vehicle. Damage from the 7:27 p.m. accident was estimated at $30,000.
