A boil water order that has been in effect for a water system in Marion County for over three weeks has been lifted. The order for the entire Pyatt Waterworks system is no longer in effect as of 10 Saturday morning.

The boil order had been issued July 6 due the total coliform in the water being a positive trigger on a resample for an original E. Coli positive sample. The Arkansas Department of Health had recently issued a statement saying Pyatt Waterworks was in violation of the federal Safe Drinking Water Act. Last month, a total coliform positive repeat sample violation reportedly occurred following an E.Coli positive routine sample.

The water system has replaced the chemical feed pump and flushed the system to correct the violation.
