A Boone County man was seriously injured after his pickup truck hit some trees Thursday afternoon in Taney County. Twenty-three-year-old Joseph Sumerall of Omaha was transported by air ambulance to Mercy Hospital in Springfield.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Sumerall was traveling on Happy Hollow Road. He was nearly five miles east of Ridgedale when his truck ran off the road and struck the trees. Sumerall was reportedly not wearing a seat belt.
Sumerall’s truck was totaled in the 1:47 p.m. accident.
