MH boys’ blue team 3rd, boys’ gold team 8th, girls 7th after 1st day of Ultimate HS Invitational

Several high school golfers gathered at Big Creek Golf and Country Club Monday for the first round of the Ultimate Auto Group High School Invitational.

Mountain Home divided up in two teams on the boys’ side. The Bombers’ blue squad is currently third with a team total of 335, and the gold team is eighth at 376. Rogers is the first round leader at 313, and Russellville is second at seven strokes back. In addition, Harrison is sixth at 359, Flippin is 11th at 404, and Bergman is 14th at 443.

The individual co-leaders after the first day are Coehn Kinnard and Stevens Hunter of Providence Academy after both shot a one-under-par 71. Cody Cormican and Ian Ellison are Mountain Home’s top performers as each have an 82, and Chace Berwald shot an 85. Tucker Thompson led Flippin with a 98, Kaden Ponder led Bergman with an 85, and Isaac Freeman led Harrison with an 86.

Mountain Home is seventh on the girls’ side with a team total of 361. Mount St. Mary is the first roundleader at 256, and Russellville is second at 279. Harrison is fourth at 342.

Russellville’s Macy Cooper is at the top of the individual leaderboard with an 84. Abby Edens leads the Lady Bombers with a 96, and Jordan Massie shot a 136. Jacklyn Tapley is Harrison’s top performer with a 111.

The final round of the tournament will be held Tuesday morning. Tee time is scheduled for 8.
