A Mountain Home resident won her third straight stone skipping championship over the weekend. Ashlie Hueter won the women’s division of the Great Southern Stone Skipping Championship held at Lakewood Lake #1 in North Little Rock. Her winning throw totaled 27 skips, which set a new tournament record.
Hueter’s 27 skips bested her total of 26 skips from last year which had been the women’s record.
The event is a fundraiser for the Arkansas Foodbank. A total of $2,500 was raised.
