
The Mountain Home High School tennis teams had a good night Tuesday in Russellville as they opened conference play. The Bombers and Lady Bombers combined to go 15-1 against Alma and Greenwood.
Mountain Home won every match against Alma in straight sets. The Bomber boys got singles victories from Stratton Smith and Landon Horne and doubles wins from the team of Pierce Blackmon and Zane Darracq and the team of Strat Rucker and Noah Recktenwald. On the girls’ side, Hannah Baker’s opponent forfeited before the second set ended, and they also had a singles victory from Mary Charles McConnell. The doubles wins came from the team of Nadia and Bianca Talbot and the team of Kelsey Blackwell and Bella Dotson.
Against Greenwood, Mountain Home’s boys won every match in straight sets. The singles wins came from Smith and Horne, and the doubles victories were from the team of Blackmon and Darracq and the team of Rucker and Recktenwald. On the girls’ side, the Talbots and the team of Blackwell and Dotson won their doubles matches in straight sets. McConnell won her singles match in three sets.
