High school football makes up much of local Friday schedule as Mountain Home hits the home turf for the first time this season. It’s the renewal of one of Arkansas’ oldest rivalries as the Bombers will go up against Harrison.
Both teams are 1-0 on the season. Mountain Home is coming off a 29-19 victory over Nettleton last week in Jonesboro. The Goblins edged out Springdale 24-20 on their home field.
Bombers’ head coach Steve Ary says Friday will be a fun night with a rivalry game and other activities going on.

Kickoff at Bomber Stadium is scheduled for 7. Friday’s game can be heard on Classic Hits 101.7 and streaming live at ktlo.com and the Bomber Sports Network on YouTube. Radio coverage begins around 5:30 with Electric Cooperatives of Arkansas High School Gameday.

Yellville-Summit will have its second straight road trip as they go to the Arkansas River Valley. The Panthers will be in Coal Hill for a meeting with Johnson County Westside.
Yellville-Summit started the season at 1-0 last week. The Panthers went to Little Rock and beat up on Baptist Prep 44-20. Westside will be seeing the field for the first time this year. The Rebels’ game last week against Dover was canceled due to the extreme heat.
Kickoff at Rebel Stadium is set for 7.

Elsewhere on the local Arkansas schedule, Salem hosts Thayer, and Melbourne entertains Lonoke.

There is one game matching up teams in the Arkansas Sports Media Top 10. Second-ranked Conway travels to third-ranked Bentonville.

On the eight-man level, Izard County is home against Corning, and Mountain View hosts Brinkley. Marshall is idle for the second consecutive week.

Among the area schools in Missouri, West Plains entertains Springfield Glendale, Hollister is home against East Newton, Forsyth hosts Buffalo, Branson makes the trip to Carthage, and Ava entertains Strafford.
