A few area high school golf teams gathered Thursday at the Golf Course on Turkey Mountain in Horseshoe Bend.
Flippin won the boys’ side with a team total of 122. Viola finished second at 143, Cotter was fourth at 156, and Mammoth Spring ended up fifth at 166. Izard County’s Elijah Wilkes was the medalist with a 38 as he beat out Flippin’s Hudson Lindsey with one stroke. Will Morris led Cotter with a 49, Braden Williams hot a 43 for Viola, Keaden Gill had a 46 for Calico Rock, Blake Rogers ended up with a 49 for Mammoth Spring.
Viola was the winner on the girls’ side with a total of 164, and Mammoth Spring took second place at 173. Mammoth Spring’s Adrianna Corbett took home the medalist honor with a 48, and Viola’s Emily Martin finished second at five strokes back. Bailey Rowe had a 69 for Cotter.
Elsewhere, Melbourne won both of the team titles at the Cherokee Village South Course.
The Bearkatz had a total of 115 on the boys’ side. Teammates Carter Manry and Brennon Burch shared the medalist honor after each shot a 37.
Melbourne also won the girls’ side as their team total was 142. Annie Rush was the medalist as she led the Lady Bearkatz with a 43.
