Thursday volleyball results include MHHS falling to Harrison

The Mountain Home High School volleyball team suffered its first 5A-West loss of the season. Harrison beat the Lady Bombers in four sets with scores of 25-22, 10-25, 25-21 and 25-21.
Carson Schmitz led Mountain Home with 19 kills, 10 assists, 13 digs, two blocks and two aces; Anna McCarn had 14 kills and five blocks; Ali Czanstkowski recorded 21 assists and five digs; Addison Martz finished with 23 digs and two aces; Lauren Rauls added 18 digs; and Karleigh Drewry ended up with eight digs.
Mountain Home fared better in the junior varsity match as they topped Harrison in straight sets with scores of 25-22 and 25-20. The J.V. Lady Bombers were led by Lorelai Green and Kendra Medley with six kills each, Micayla Magis dished out 19 assists, and Peeka Traver had 12 digs.

Melbourne had a rough night in front of the home crowd. Valley Springs remained undefeated on the season as they topped the Lady Bearkatz in straight sets.

Marshall also ended up losing on its home floor. The Lady Bobcats fell to Conway Christian in straight sets.

Mountain Home also hosted West Memphis West for three junior high matches.
The Junior Lady Bombers took the varsity match in straight sets as they beat the Lady Blue Imps 25-18 and 25-16. Annyston Crooker led Mountain Home with seven kills and an ace; Aleigh Lucas had six kills and a block; Brytlee Burroughs recorded three kills and three aces; Lydia Miller finished with two kills and a block; Ava Jones ended up with 13 assists, two aces and two digs; Bella Conyers had six aces; Maddie Simmons recorded six digs; and Violet Daugherty finished with five aces, three assists and two digs. The Junior Lady Bombers improve to 2-4 on the season and 2-1 in the Northeast Arkansas Conference.
Mountain Home split the junior varsity match with West Memphis West after scores of 25-15 and 19-25. The Junior J.V. Lady Bombers were led by Ava Cate Caples with three kills, four aces and a block; Audrey Birkhimer had three kills, an ace and a block; Joslin Haney recorded two kills and three aces; Makenna Miller finished with eight digs and two aces; and Karly Goes ended up with five assists, two digs and an ace.
The evening began with Mountain Home losing the seventh grade match. West Memphis West beat the Seventh Grade Lady Bombers in straight sets with scores of 25-20 and 25-17.
