
Coronavirus cases in the Twin Lakes Area appear to be steadily back on the rise. Baxter Health Infection Prevention Coordinator Stephanie Free says the hospital had 29 positive cases during the previous week. Baxter Health and its clinics reported 28 cases the week prior and 23 two weeks before.
Free also says the hospital’s admissions are staying pretty steady at around three to five at any given time. Baxter Health had five COVID-19 patients admitted as of Friday. None of the cases were in the intensive care unit, and Free says ICU admissions are rare.
Data from the Arkansas Department of Health shows Baxter County has 23 active coronavirus cases. Since the pandemic began in 2020, Baxter County has had 10,739 total positive cases and 284 deaths.
Marion County active case count is currently at six. Marion County’s total cases since 2020 are at 4,106 with 95 deaths reported.
Fulton County currently has seven active cases of COVID-19. The county’s total since the beginning is 3,112 with 99 deaths.
Izard County has 10 active cases. Izard County’s total count 4,730, and its death toll due to coronavirus is 78.
The active case count in Searcy County stands at 17. Searcy County’s total since 2020 is 2,575, and the death count is at 53.
Stone County’s current count of active COVID-19 cases is at nine. Stone County has had 3,711 total cases since the beginning of the pandemic, and its death toll is at 80.
Boone County has one of the highest active case counts in north central Arkansas at 40. Since 2020, Boone County has had 11,304 total cases and 204 deaths.
Newton County currently has seven active coronavirus cases. Its total case count stands 2,055 with 54 deaths reported.
Statewide, Arkansas has 2,338 active COVID-19 cases. The total positive account since the start of the pandemic is 1,008,303 with 13,062 deaths.
