Cardinals host Phillies to begin home stand

The St. Louis Cardinals are set to begin a seven-game home stand on Friday. The Redbirds will play the first of a three-game weekend series with the Philadelphia Phillies.

St. Louis remains in last place in the National League Central Division with a record of 65-81. The Cardinals trail Milwaukee by 17 games.

Philadelphia is in second place in the N.L. East with a mark of 79-67. The Phillies are currently in position for the National League’s first wild card spot as they’re 1 1/2 games up on the Chicago Cubs.

Zack Thompson will take the mound for St. Louis, and Philadelphia will go with Aaron Nola. The first pitch at Busch Stadium is scheduled for 7:15. Friday’s game can be heard on KTLO-AM. The broadcast begins at 6:20 with Ameren Total Access.
