
The Mountain Home High School volleyball team had a rough night Thursday in Russellville. The Lady Bombers lost their match in four sets as the Lady Cyclones posted scores of 25-13, 25-23, 21-25 and 25-17.
Mountain Home also lost the junior varsity match in straight sets with scores of 25-14 and 25-23.
In other high school volleyball, Mountain Home Christian Academy was able to sweep Ozark Christian. The Lady Eagles took the varsity match in straight sets with scores of 25-14, 25-23 and 25-9. Mountain Home Christian also won the junior varsity match in straight sets by scores of 29-27 and 25-21.
Yellville-Summit was able to pick up a win on the road. The Lady Panthers defeated Melbourne in straight sets.
Salem came away with a straight set victory over Midland. The Lady Greyhounds topped the Lady Mustangs 25-23, 25-22 and 25-23.
Harrison ended up beating Greenbrier in straight sets. The Lady Goblins posted scores of 25-19, 25-16 and 25-20.
On the junior high level, Mountain Home won three matches in straight sets over West Memphis Wonder.
The Junior Lady Bombers took the varsity match 25-9 and 25-14. Annyston Crooker led Mountain Home with six kills and four aces; Ava Jones had two kills, seven assists and an ace; Violet Daugherty recorded 10 aces, four assists and three digs; Bella Conyers finished with five aces; Miley Epps ended up with three aces; and Clara Ducker and Maddie Simmons each added two aces. The Junior Lady Bombers improve to 4-7 on the season and 3-2 in the Northeast Arkansas Conference.
Mountain Home also won the junior varsity match 25-6 and 25-14. The Junior J.V. Lady Bombers were led by Kailyn Pope with two kills and an ace, Aly Wheeler had a kill and five aces, Karly Goes recorded nine aces and four assists, and Maya Bizzle chipped in five aces.
