A Mountain Home woman has been arrested for allegedly striking a store employee with a cart and spitting on another employee while attempting to steal merchandise. The incident that led the arrest of 56-year-old Irene Veronica Frogge happened Thursday morning.

According to the report from the Mountain Home Police Department, an officer was dispatched to the Walmart store for a shoplifting incident. The suspect was being held in the security office and was smoking a cigarette when the officer entered. He asked her to put the cigarette out but she refused. He asked multiple times with her refusing each time.

The officer attempted to detain Frogge who would not cooperate, trying to pull away. She was taken to the ground but refused to give the officer her hands. An off-duty officer came into the room to assist in getting handcuffs on Frogge.

Walmart employees say Frogge was attempting to steal $90 worth of merchandise.
