Starting Thursday, the Art Odyssey will celebrate its 12th annual self guided tour of local artists studios and will run through Saturday.
Featuring 28 artists from Baxter and Marion counties, patrons will be able to experience the artists in their personal studios in various art forms including painting, photography, pottery and woodwork.
Chairman of the board for the Art Odyssey, Dana Johnson, was recently a guest on KTLO’s Talk of the Town with Sammy Raycraft and she says this free event is a great way to experience the many talented artists in our area.

It is a self guided tour. There is no charge for the tour. We have 28 artists on the tour this year. It kind of hits 10 different cities. One of the furthest out this year is Calico Rock. And then I’m on the other end, sort of, in Yellville. So, it’s a nice, nice trip to get out and… So there’s a variety that should interest everyone.
How do people get the route? How do they find out where to go? We have a tour guide available, and inside there is a map. Every artist also has a QR code on their little page they have in the tour guide, and that’ll take you right to the Google map if you need that. But we also have a printed map. Some routes that you can take, and it’ll tell you how many miles that route is, and how many artists you’ll see on that little trip, but you can design your own too, so, yes, and it’s just a good day to get out and see, the country, your, your community, and enjoy a day.
I’m just really excited because we have such a variety of artists this year. We have some that have been on the tour for years. They always have new stuff, new art to share. They like to do demos in their studio too, so if you have You can plan for a little time, you can see how they, how they do their art or make their, their woodwork or whatever they work on.
