On Sept. 21, the Arkansas Recreation and Parks Association named the Coulter Celebration of Lights in Mountain Home as the Festival/Event of the year for new festivals less than four years old. With over two million lights in just two years, the Coulter Celebration of Lights has quickly grown into a new local tradition attracting visitors both locally and from afar.

Mollie Morgan, Director of Development for Arkansas State University Mountain Home (ASUMH) tells KTLO, Classic Hits and The Boot News the honor came as a surprise for ASUMH but she is very proud of the community effort.

Over 14,348 cars have driven through the festival in the first couple of years with over $77,000 collected in donations from visitors. Morgan states a large portion of these donations go to fund scholarships at ASUMH that offer much needed assistance to those furthering their education.
