
Yellville-Summit’s homecoming night ended with a rough loss. The Panthers ended up falling to Melbourne 39-6. Yellville-Summit drops to 4-2 on the season and 0-2 in the 3A-2, and they’ll travel to Quitman next week. The Bearkatz improve to 2-3 and 1-0, and they’ll travel to Salem next week.
Salem remains unbeaten after going on the road to play another group of Greyhounds. Salem, currently ranked second in Class 3A by the Arkansas Sports Media, defeated Newport 52-34. Salem is 6-0 overall and 2-0 in the 3A-2.
Harrison picked up its first conference win of the season. The Goblins hosted Prairie Grove and and came away with an easy 52-12 victory. Harrison is 3-2 overall and 1-1, and they’ll host Shiloh Christian next week.
The eight-man slate featured a pair of Cougar teams ranked in Classes 2A/1A by the Arkansas Sports Media. Third-ranked Izard County lost at No. 1 Rector 56-16. Izard County falls to 3-3 on the season and 1-1 in the 2A/1A-North.
Marshall went to Hot Springs and lost its last non-conference game of the year. The Bobcats fell to Cutter-Morning Star 60-42. Marshall drops to 1-4 on the year, and they’ll host Cedar Ridge next week.
Mountain View continues its run of never having lost an eight-man game. The Yellowjackets, currently the top-ranked team in Classes 4A/3A, opened conference play by pounding Rose Bud 54-14. Mountain View is 5-0 overall and 1-0 in the 4A/3A-North, and they’ll host Corning next week.
