A teacher who spent nearly two decades in the Mountain Home School District will be among the Class of 2023 for the Mountain Home Education Foundation. Marsha Partney will receive the Retired Educator Award during Thursday’s Night of Honors.

Partney says when she interviewed for a job at Mountain Home, she was applying for a science position since that was one of the subjects she was teaching at Flippin. However, she was hired to teach fifth grade literacy at Pinkston Middle School. She later changed to becoming a gifted and talented teacher at Pinkston and moved to Hackler Intermediate School following the completion of its construction.

Partney says one memory she looks back on with pride was directing the Odyssey of the Mind Program.
