On Wednesday, Mountain Home Mayor Hillrey Adams made an official proclamation for October to be recognized as Arkansas College Application Campaign month for Mountain Home High School. In an effort to promote college awareness and access, Mountain Home High School will participate in College Application Month, sponsored by the Arkansas Department of Education, Division of Career and Technical Education (ADE-DCTE), ASUMH, and Mountain Home High School during the month of October.

The goal of Arkansas College Application Campaign (ACAC) Month is to provide seniors with the opportunity to complete and file college applications with the support of their school. Seniors will also be encouraged to complete Arkansas Challenge scholarship applications during the event.

College Application Month is geared toward first-generation college students and students who may not otherwise apply to college. However, Mountain Home High School will offer college-focused activities for all seniors, and some activities will be open to sophomores and juniors as well. Activities include college fairs; college visits; FAFSA and scholarship events; a Sweets, Stickers, Selfies, and Signings incentive program for seniors. This is the fifth annual College Application Month in Arkansas.

Jodi Hill and Whitney Rodgers, College and Career Coaches for Mountain Home High School through ASUMH, coordinated with Adams, to visit the high school campus Wednesday morning to make the official proclamation.
