MHHS teams finish 2nd, junior boys win, junior girls end up 4th in Bomber Invitational

Several cross country runners gathered at Arkansas State University-Mountain Home on Thursday for the annual Bomber Invitational.

The Bombers finished second in the high school boys’ race with the victory going to Jonesboro. Harrison was third, Timbo ended up fourth, and Viola took sixth place. Mountain Home’s William Hill was the individual winner in a time of 16:03.21, and teammate Hendrix Hughes finished second. Also for the Bombers, Connor King was fourth, and Aidan Sanders ended up 10th. Harrison’s Conner Valentine took eighth place.

Mountain Home also finished second to Jonesboro in the high school girls’ race. For the Lady Bombers, Lucy Koehn was fourth in 21:39.21, Whitney Wilber ended up seventh, Mackenzi Clark took eighth place, Camilla Johnson finished 10th. Viola’s Missy Wilson was the top area runner as she crossed the line in third place in 21:30.26. Bergman’s Jacey Halitzka ended up fifth, and Brennan Steinman of Harrison took ninth place.

Mountain Home won the junior boys’ race. West Plains finished second, Harrison was third, Timbo ended up fourth, and Viola took fifth place. The Junior Bombers were led by Wave Simmons’ fourth place finish in a time of 8:48.74, Finley Maxey was seventh, and Oakley Recktenwald ended up ninth. Harrison’s Hunter Frickle took the win in 8:20.02, Sawyer Hartman of Valley Springs finished third, Harrison’s Jonathan Perkins was sixth, fellow Junior Goblin Gavin Dickson ended up eighth, and Jake Currie of Timbo took 10th place.

Mountain Home finished fourth in the junior girls’ race. Timbo got the team win, Harrison was second, and West Plains ended up third. Cisily Goettler led the Junior Lady Bombers as she took second place in a time of 10:37.51, and Callie Kohler finished seventh. Springfield Homeschool runner Anna Lu was the top runner in 10:22.76. Abby Mongillo and Isabella Elliott of West Plains ended up third and fourth respectively, Harrison’s Kodi Harris and Mila Baethke took fifth and sixth place, Katie Riggins of Valley Springs finished eighth, Annabella Freidt of West Plains was ninth, and Harrison’s Fernanda Padilla ended up 10th.
