The Mountain Home City Council had a quick meeting Thursday evening with just two items on the agenda.

The council voted unanimously to annex a small area of land behind the Mountain Home Fire Department Station 2 building off of U.S. Highway 62/412 Business East into the city. The area is along Robin Street and Sunset Drive that currently does not have any dwellings. The petition was made by the Worthen Family Trust and New Hope Missionary Baptist Church.

The land owners asked for the annexation as they plan to build triplexes on the property and would like to be hooked into the city sewer.

The only other item on the agenda was the routine setting of a two mill city tax on the county collector’s books for the upcoming year. There is no change to the millage that has to be approved each October by the council for the upcoming year.
