The Mountain Home High School Bomber Band was able to pick up more wins as they competed in the Branson Invitational Marching Contest over the weekend. The band was able to finish first in colorguard and general effect.
According to Band Director Tom Chentnik, Mountain Home also had the top score in its preliminary classification. Muskogee, Okla., was second followed by Blue Valley North from Overland Park, Kan., Harrison and Fort Osage, Mo. The Bomber Band ended up sixth overall in the finals.
The band will travel to Rogers High School on Tuesday to compete in the Arkansas School Band and Orchestra Association Region VI Marching Assessment. It’s the qualifying event for the state marching contest on Nov. 1 and the first leg of the Sweepstakes Award for superior performance in marching, concert and sightreading to be held in the spring.
