Friday basketball results include Cotter boys falling, Norfork splitting in Bobby D. Hulse Memorial Classic

Several area high school basketball teams played in the Bobby D. Hulse Memorial Classic Friday at Norfork.
On the boys’ side, Cotter had a rough outing in the last game of the night. The Warriors fell to South Side-Bee Branch 65-33.
Norfork’s boys did not fare any better. The Panthers suffered a 55-22 defeat at the hands of Buffalo Island Central.
Viola ended up losing to Mammoth Spring 60-38. Garet O’Dell led the Bears with 30 points, and Blake Rogers added 13.
Bergman’s boys were able to pick up an easy win. The Panthers breezed past Riverside 74-56.
Norfork was more fortunate on the girls’ side. The Lady Panthers topped by a score of 70-42.
Viola’s girls had a tough day in the classic. The Lady Longhorns ended up falling to BIC 58-37.
The Mammoth Spring girls topped South Side-Bee Branch 63-46. The Lady Bears were led by Brynn Washam with 22 points, Laney Young scored 12, and Tay Davis chipped in 10.
Bergman also topped Riverside in their girls’ game. The Lady Panthers beat the Lady Rebels 49-39.

Elsewhere, the Calico Rock High School teams were swept by Hillcrest at Lynn. The Pirates lost the boys’ game 58-49 to the Screamin’ Eagles. Calico Rock also fell in the girls’ contest 49-36.

The Lead Hill High School teams also suffered a sweep when they went to Western Grove to face Ozark Mountain. The Tigers fell to the Bears 47-33 in the boys’ game. Lead Hill’s girls ended up falling to Ozark Mountain 59-32.
