Gainesville woman seriously injured when vehicle hits truck

A Gainesville woman was seriously injured when her vehicle collided with a truck in the city Friday morning. Eighty-five-year-old Polly Ousley was transported by air ambulance to Cox Medical Center South in Springfield.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the truck, driven by 24-year-old Brett Foster of Bakersfield, was traveling on U.S. Highway 160. Ousley was reportedly attempting to cross the highway from County Road 503 and failed to yield, causing the collision. Ousley was not wearing a seat belt. Foster was not injured.

Ousley’s vehicle had extensive damage, and Foster’s truck had moderate damage in the 10:30 a.m. accident.
