West Plains burglary suspect arrested

The West Plains Police Department has announced a male has been arrested in connection with a theft from a local business.

According to the press release, on Tuesday morning, officers responded to a burglar alarm at a business on Porter Wagoner Boulevard. A male subject allegedly fled from the area and was taken into custody nearby. The suspect has been identified as 31-year-old Taylor S. Wilcox of West Plains.

Wilcox was then arrested for burglarizing the business and resisting arrest.

Detectives state they were able to link Wilcox to numerous burglaries in the West Plains area using items seized from him at the time of his arrest. Wilcox was identified as the suspect shown in the recent Facebook posts requesting community assistance.

The Howell County Sheriff’s Office assisted the West Plains Police Department in locating and apprehending Wilcox.

Wilcox is allegedly currently on probation/parole for burglary and stealing, and he will face numerous additional burglary and stealing charges.

Officials state criminal charges, and any discussion thereof, are merely allegations and all defendants are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty in a court of law.
