A Calico Rock man was killed and two people were injured Monday morning when a police patrol vehicle hit a van, pushing it into the path of a semi. The Missouri State Highway Patrol identifies the victim as 29-year-old Joshua M. Parker.
Injured in the crash was the Thayer policeman, 32-year-old Keith Price, and the driver of the semi, 47-year-old Shaun Hendrix of West Plains. Both men were transported by ambulance to Ozarks Healthcare in West Plains. Hendrix sustained what were termed serious injuries while Price had moderate injuries.
According to the report, Parker was stopped for traffic making a turn, when his vehicle was struck from behind by the Thayer police cruiser driven by Price. The impact knocked Parker’s van into the path of the semi driven by Hendrix.
The crash happened at 7 Monday morning on U.S. Highway 63, two miles north of Thayer.
