
The 5A-West Conference Meet ended Thursday at Siloam Springs with the Mountain Home High School boys’ cross country team winning its eighth consecutive conference championship.
The Bombers finished four points ahead of Russellville in the team standings. Mountain Home had five runners selected All-Conference. William Hill finished second individually in a time of 16:49.62. Garrett Bar was fifth, Connor King ended up sixth, Hendrix Hughes took seventh place, and Trenton Smith finished 14th. Harrison’s Conner Valentine was also named All-Conference as he was eighth in the race. The individual victory went to River Hardman of Russellville.
Mountain Home ended up third in the high school girls’ division with Greenwood winning the title. Lucy Koehn led the Lady Bombers as she crossed the line in eighth place in 22:16.76, and she was joined on the All-Conference team by Mackenzi Clark in 12th place and Erin Smith in 13th place. Brooklyn Nicholson of Russellville won the individual championship.
Mountain Home took fourth place in the junior boys’ race, and Harrison finished fifth. Russellville won the crown. The Junior Bombers were led by Wave Simmons as he was sixth in a time of 11:50.41, and teammate Finley Maxey ended up eighth. The individual win went to Hunter Frickle of Harrison.
Mountain Home took seventh place in the junior girls’ division, and Harrison finished sixth. The team title went to Russellville. Callie Kohler led the Junior Lady Bombers as she was 16th in 14:50.89. Madelyn Honghiran of Russellville won the race.
