AAA sets guidelines for handshake lines following recent postgame fights

Recent fights during postgame handshakes have led the Arkansas Activities Association to update its guidelines on the handshake lines. The AAA is now advising teams have administration and security around each side and to have coaches in the front and the back of each line.

Mountain Home athletic director Mitch Huskey says the Bomber teams have already been following most of the guidelines before they were ever set.

Huskey says he applauds the AAA for taking the initiative to set the guidelines, but at the same time, it’s disappointing that these steps are necessary.

The AAA’s guidelines come most notably after a football game between Mills and Pine Bluff. Mills won in overtime, but after the game, a fight broke out between the two teams in the handshake line. A total of 35 players ended up getting suspended by the AAA.
