House fire in rural MH Tuesday night causes significant damage

Tuesday evening, the Mountain Home Fire Department (MHFD) along with two other departments responded to a report of a house fire, causing significant damage.
According to the incident report, firefighters were dispatched to a residence along Baxter County Road 712 at approximately 6:56 in the evening. Sixteen firefighters, along with eight on standby battle the blaze which originated in the living room of the home. Authorities report the home received 30% fire damage, 80% smoke damage and 50% water damage.
MHFD received mutual aid from Cotter/Gassville Rural Fire Department, Buford Fire Department, Baxter Health, Baxter County Sheriff’s Office and North Arkansas Electric Cooperative.
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation. No injuries were reported.
