Starting Monday, candidates seeking to appear on the 2024 ballot will be able to file their paperwork with the county.
According to Baxter County Clerk Canda Reese, the filing period opens Monday at Noon and will close Nov. 14 at Noon. Prospective candidates will first get with their political part, pay their filing fees and complete required paperwork. Once complete, candidate may officially file with the County Clerks’ office during regular business hours.
Local positions open for filing will include Justices of the Peace and Constables for all 11 districts as well as School Board candidates.
School Board seats up for election in 2024 include Mountain Home Public Schools Board of Education positions 5 and 7, position 4 in the Cotter Public School District and position 2 in the Norfork Public School District. School Board candidates file by petition.
