Tuesday basketball schedule includes MHHS girls meeting host team in Searcy Classic

Basketball makes up much of the local Tuesday schedule and includes the Mountain Home High School girls playing their opener in the Searcy Classic. The Lady Bombers’ first opponent will be the host Lady Lions.
Mountain Home comes into the game with a record of 5-2 on the season. The Lady Bombers’ last game was Nov. 20 when they beat up on Batesville. Searcy is undefeated in five games on the year. The Lady Lions defeated Beebe that same night.
Tip-off at Lion Arena is scheduled for 7. Tuesday’s game can be heard on Classic Hits 101.7 and streaming live at ktlo.com and the Bomber Sports Network on YouTube.

Both of Cotter’s teams will play their openers in the Anstaff Bank Bev Stone Memorial Border Classic in Jasper. The Lady Warriors face Jasper at 5:30, and the Cotter boys meet the host Eagles at 7.

Bergman’s boys will be in Vilonia for their first game in the V-Town Showdown. The Panthers take on Paragould at 5:15.

Elsewhere on the high school level, Norfork hosts Yellville-Summit, Viola entertains Timbo, Izard County travels to Quitman, Marshall is home against Cedar Ridge, Mountain View hosts Riverview, Rural Special entertains Concord, and Valley Springs makes the short trip to Western Grove to play Ozark Mountain.

Mountain Home’s three junior high boys’ teams will be in front of the home crowd as they welcome Farmington to the Twin Lakes Area. The seventh grade game tips off at 4 followed by the eighth grade and freshman contests.

Mountain Home’s three junior high girls’ teams will also play Farmington, but their games will be on the road. The seventh grade game starts at 4, and the eighth grade and freshman contests will follow.

In other junior high basketball, Flippin is home against Alpena.
