
The Cotter High School basketball teams ended up splitting their games at Haas Hall-Bentonville. The Lady Warriors put the mercy rule in effect as they pounded the Lady Huskies 64-20. Cotter did not come out as well in the boys’ contest as they fell to Haas Hall 57-46.
Flippin swept its high school games over Lead Hill.
The Bobcats won the boys’ game over the Tigers 46-30. Christian Wire and Alex Glenn were Flippin’s top scorers with 13 points each, and Rilyn Robbins ended up with 13. Kaden Baker had 14 points for Lead Hill.
In the girls’ game, Flippin picked up a 62-18 win over Lead Hill.
The Yellville-Summit High School teams swept a pair of conference games at home over Ozark Mountain. The Panthers beat the Bears 57-38 in the boys’ game. Yellville-Summit also took the girls’ contest 42-37.
Two area boys’ teams were victorious in the semifinals of the Forsyth Tournament. Gainesville upset top-seeded Carl Junction 66-59, and Branson topped Lebanon 51-45.
The Salem girls advanced to the championship game of the Williams Baptist University High School Tournament. The Lady Greyhounds invoked the mercy rule on Friday as they routed Hillcrest 59-23. Marleigh Sellars paced Salem with 14 points, and Maddie Keen added 11.
Dora’s girls finished fourth in the Fordland Invitational Tournament. The Lady Falcons lost its finale in the tournament 76-34 at the hands of Hartville.
Two area girls’ teams were winners on the second day of the Charles B. Dyer Classic at Alma.
Mammoth Spring breezed past the host Lady Airedales 60-39. The Lady Bears were led by Brynn Washam with 24 points, Tay Davis scored 17 points, and Adrianna Corbett grabbed 10 rebounds.
Bergman came away with their second win in the event. The Lady Panthers had an easy 69-35 win over Greenland.
The Melbourne boys had a tough road trip across the state line. The Bearkatz ended up losing to Thayer 69-42.
Marshall split its high school games at Quitman. The Bobcats won the boys’ game over the Bulldogs 74-55. The girls’ contest had a different result with Marshall falling to Quitman 75-45.
Rural Special’s boys suffered a conference defeat at Greers Ferry. The Rebels lost to West Side 72-60.
The Valley Springs girls had a rough night in their second game of the Benton Holiday Classic. The Lady Tigers fell to West Memphis 65-42.
The Jasper High School teams had a successful homecoming against Oark. The Pirates won the boys’ game over the Hornets 95-28. The girls’ game was almost as lopsided as Jasper destroyed Oark 71-19.
