Basketball makes up much of the local Monday schedule as two of Mountain Home’s junior high girls’ teams welcome Greene County Tech to the Twin Lakes Area. The eighth grade game tips off at 4 followed by the freshman contest.
Two of Mountain Home’s junior high boys’ teams will return to the road for a matchup with Batesville. The eighth grade game begins at 5, and the freshman contest will follow.
Mountain Home’s seventh grade teams will also be traveling as they go up against Salem. The girls’ game tips off at 5 followed by the boys’ contest.
Elsewhere on the junior high level, Yellville-Summit travels to Harrison, Marshall hosts Heber Springs, Timbo entertains Ozark Mountain, and Bergman is home against Valley Springs.
The Izard County Tournament continues at the A.L. Hutson Memorial Center in Highland. The junior girls’ game between Calico Rock and Izard County will tip off at 4, Melbourne’s junior boys face Cave City at 5:15, The Izard County senior girls take on Cave City at 6:30, and Melbourne’s senior boys play Highland at 7:45.
The Omaha High School boys will play their opener in the Anstaff Bank Green Forest Holiday Tournament. The Eagles meet Blue Eye at 5.
In other high school basketball, Bakersfield’s girls make the trip to Cabool, and the Gainesville girls host Willow Springs.
